Agents Give Back to Local Communities
To help keep Wisconsin Strong
Rural Mutual Insurance continues to ask themselves, “what more can we do” to support our customers and communities to help keep Wisconsin Strong through the pandemic challenges. From our home office in Madison and locations throughout Wisconsin, corporately and individually we are involved with organizations to give back to our communities. With agents throughout the state of Wisconsin, we’ve recently seen a generous outpouring of donations from our agents in their local communities.

Wisconsin Food & Farm Support Fund
Helping Local Farms and Families
The Wisconsin Food and Farm Support Fund – will provide movement and encourage consumption of milk and other agriculture products to ensure farmers continue to have a place to sell their products, and provide Wisconsinites access these nutritious, high-quality product.
Feeding Wisconsin is the statewide association of the Feeding America food banks that sources, warehouses, and provides food to over 750 affiliated agencies and 1,000 local food programs throughout the state.
The Harvest of Hope Fund is a resource for farm families that are struggling financially. It was created in January 1986 to respond to the farm crisis of the 1980s. Harvest of Hope has given out over 1,650 gifts totaling more than $1,070,000 over its 34-year history. The mission of the Harvest of Hope is simple: to provide financial help –and hope—to Wisconsin farm families in difficult financial situations.
United Way
Home office employee and corporate contributions
Every year Rural Mutual insurance launches a United Way campaign to support our local community.
Besides personal and corporate donations, we raise money with employee food events sponsored by local restaurant, craft and book fairs, Bucky book sales and more.
Additionally, once a month a group of 6 employees volunteer at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Southern Wisconsin, helping with the weekly food pantry event.
WIAA Athletics
Sportsmanship Matters
We believe there’s something more important than just winning or losing a tournament. We believe that the team, school and fans who support their athletes with dignity and class are the true champions. That’s why we’ve proudly sponsored the WIAA/Rural Sportsmanship Award for more than 50 years.
Rural Mutual has been involved with the WIAA State Boys and Girls Basketball Tournaments as a sponsor of game telecasts. Our sponsorship has expanded to also include statewide football, and hockey tournament telecasts.
Youth Ag Involvement
We support our current and future farm leaders
Farm Bureau
Rural Mutual is a major sponsor of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation’s Young Farmer and Agriculturist program, Farm Bureau Leadership Institute, and Farm Bureau Foundation to support agricultural leadership and education programs.
4-H
Rural Mutual is a Silver Clover ($5,000 annual support) program sponsor of the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation and a winning bidder in the annual Meat Products Auction at the Wisconsin State Fair.
FFA
Rural Mutual also works with future rural leaders as a sponsor of the Wisconsin FFA Convention, the FFA Farm Forum and FFA Chapter Leadership Proficiency awards.
